“The Kindergarten Teacher”
Time to take your seats everyone - Today we'll be learning about a mushroom we call The Kindergarten Teacher! It's sweet and mild in flavour, as well as being firm and supportive in texture. It does well under pressure, loves to be buttered up, and is just a little bit nutty! This Kindergarten Teacher will have everyone raising their hands to ask for more!
Our family loves to keep it simple with this one, sauteing and enjoying them with eggs and toast in the morning. They can also withstand longer cooking times, making them ideal for simmering in soups and sauces, and they make an excellent complement to game, grilled meats, and seafood. Their thick stems offer a crunchier texture than the caps, though they are bitter when raw. Store in a paper bag in your fridge for a week or more.
